Name: Markus Ulrich Scaarsen
Codename: M.U.S.C.A.
Occupation: Former Special Forces Operative / ILUNIA Enforcer
Distinctive Marks: Deep scars along neck and forearms — described as “cut but not by blade”
Affiliation: ILUNIA “VIGIL SECTOR” – Body of the Ritual
Markus Ulrich Scaarsen is known in ILUNIA records as "Agent M.U.S.C.A.", the Body of Ritual.
Once a special forces soldier, Scaarsen lost consciousness at the point where the line between command and belief blurred. The only thing he learned in war was that pain was a language. And ILUNIA taught him to speak it.
One of his first assignments was in Iceland. He served as a security consultant for ILUNIA's "Cryo Chamber," an underground bunker where even the cold and wind prayed. His job was to guard the laboratory, but one night he saw a shape hidden in the ice. When the ice cracked, it wasn't just a frozen body that appeared; Markus read his own name, carved into his chest.
From that moment on, the wounds never healed; the scratches were etched into his skin, scabbed over over time, but each one resembled ILUNIA's spiral pattern in the light.
"Ice remembers who cuts it."
He participated in ILUNIA's "Resonant Pulse Field" experiment in Kenya. In the heart of the laboratory under the sky, a project was underway involving soldiers controlled by frequency waves. When Markus activated the device used to synchronize the soldiers' brainwaves, the entire unit looked at him simultaneously. Without giving any commands, they spoke in unison:
"We hear your fear."
From that moment on, Markus's heartbeat and the device's signal matched the rhythm. This was ILUNIA's first encounter with technological belief; the human body was now a receiver.
He was sent on an archaeological operation in France. The mission: to retrieve the last ancient artifact left behind by the L.E.P.U.S. But what he found wasn't an object, but a voice box. Inside the box, a mechanical breathing sound was recorded, each repetition echoing a portion of the ILUNIA prayer. When Markus opened the box, the wounds on his chest began to bleed again.
When the box fell silent, all the candles around it went out simultaneously.
In Estonia, ILUNIA was retrained by the "Vigil Sector." It was discovered that the scars on his body were actually a kind of "ritual map." Each cut corresponded to a different frequency point.
Markus was no longer a soldier, but the cult's "corporeal vessel"; their consciousness was etched into his skin, not his mind. When he suffered in rituals, the stones around him trembled, the light seemed to tremble with his breath.
"He who prays bears the wound."
His final assignment was in Nepal. He was tasked with guarding ILUNIA's "Ascension Protocol" ceremony in the Himalayas. The purpose of the ceremony was not to separate consciousness from the body, but to transform the body into a conscious form. As Markus waited at the summit of the mountain temple, whispers rose from beneath the snow, on the same frequency as Pavlo's:
"Return the ashes to their source."
At that moment, Markus's eyes stared blankly into space, his breath mingled with smoke, and every mark on his body glowed with an orange light. When he closed his eyes, the ILUNIA symbol spread throughout his body. He was never seen again, but a single phrase was found carved into the stones of the temple:
"The body remembers what the mind denies."
